Program description

The pre-primary program offers an introduction to the school environment starting from age 2, when children enter pre-nursery school. The following year, they move on to nursery and later, lower kindergarten. They take upper kindergarten in their final year of pre-primary education.
During these formative years, children are taught an early-learning curriculum to develop their basic knowledge of the world around them. They learn through games, arts and crafts, nursery rhymes and other forms of playful education.
At this stage, children develop speech, vocabulary, numerative, writing and drawing skills. Hand-eye coordination, gross motor skills and fine motor skills are also practised.
Practical ‘life lessons’ are also employed in the classroom, such as good manners and days of the week.
Children begin the day with prayers in their classrooms, followed by circle time. In Between classes, they receive a 10 minute break for refreshments. They also take 30 minutes for lunch before being dismissed in the early afternoon.
On special occasions, children participate in festivals and celebrations through classroom activities.
