Bio
Professor Harbans Singh Bolina has served as Director of Education at Guru Nanak Mission Public School in Dhahan Kaleran, in the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, since early 2023.
In his daily role, he oversees the school’s educational activities, ensuring students receive high-quality education in a safe, healthy, and caring environment. At the same time, he upholds the school’s compliance with regulatory requirements at all levels of government and affiliated school board(s).
His role extends to the management of human resources, facilities, finances and more. He plans for staff development and organizational growth.
Professor Harbans Singh Bolina holds an extensive teaching history, having begun his career as an Associate Professor in the Post Graduate Department of Punjabi at Lyallpur Khalsa College in Jalandhar, from 1978 to 2013. In this position, he also served as Deputy Director at the Center for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Studies between 2004 to 2010.
After holding multiple leadership positions with various academic and religious organizations, he held the title of Guru Nanak Chair for Studies in Universal Advancement at Chandigarh University between May, 2022 to February, 2023.
His additional activities have included membership of the Academic Council and Faculty of Languages at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar between 2012 to 2013. In 2013, he was also member of the Academic Council at the Punjab School Education Board in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (i.e. Mohali).
Professor Harbans Singh Bolina achieved his Master of Arts at Lyallpur Khalsa College in Jalandhar, Punjab, in 1978. He completed a diploma in Guru Granth Sahib studies at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar in 1980.
His research publications have included articles and books on Sikh religious texts and history. From 1980 to 2013, he was Staff Editor of the Divinity Section of ‘The Beas’ magazine, published by Lyallpur Khalsa College in Jalandhar.
Although he is the recipient of multiple accolades, one of his most outstanding awards is the Savidhan Sanman Puraskar, presented to him in 2022 by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, which was established by the Indian Government’s Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
